Using this partnership, the librarians administer an information literacy pretest to new first-year students on the first day of fall term in the English composition classes and a posttest in the required sophomore seminar classes. The pretest/posttest sequence provides a baseline for librarians and classroom faculty to examine student information literacy achievement during the first year.
Offered at the college’s technology-centric campus, Seneca@York, the program is supported by extensive library collections, that were started in 1999, with the opening of the campus.
