New Review in Sing Out!
We are very proud to have recieved a nice review from highly esteemed folk magazine Sing Out! !
“It’s one of those I-can’t-believe-it’s-not-butter moments. Four young swedes playing bluegrass, and if you didn’t know they were Swedish, you’d swear they’d emerged from the heart of bluegrass country. The Rockridge Brothers have a standard line-up of fiddle, guitar, banjo and bass (“all of us holler”), and use it well. They’re good instrumentalists, and they’ve studied the music well enough to be absolutely convincing … though it’s a little disconcerting when they credit their sources as later performers of the material. Still, that’s a minor quibble when there’s music to enjoy. They attack everything with energy and enthusiasm, and accents that don’t seem to bear a trace of their Northern homeland. For anyone who likes bluegrass, this is well worth a listen. You won’t hear anything radically different, but you have to love a band who acknowledges both the Clash and Crooked Still; it says a lot about the attitude they bring to what they love. – Chris Nickson.”
