Who is Drew Starkey?
Drew Starkey was born in Hickory, North Carolina USA, on 4 November 1993 – his zodiac sign is Scorpio and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor who’s probably known best for his portrayal of Garrett in the 2018 romantic comedy movie “Love, Simon”, written by Elizabeth Berger based on the novel “Simon vs. the hom*o Sapiens Agenda” by Becky Albertalli, and directed by Greg Berlanti. It starred Nick Robinson, Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel, and follows Simon Spier who has been hiding from his parents and friends that he’s gay, while his secret has now been revealed. Early life and education
Drew was raised in Hickory alongside his brother Lo and sisters Mackayla and Brooke, by their parents Todd Starkey and Jodi Ballard Hutto, who divorced when he was still very young; his mother then married Brian Hutto.
Drew attended a local high school at which he was interested in sports, and played soccer, football and tennis, and also acting, appearing in nearly all the plays performed at the school. After noticing his talent, Drew’s professor advised him to try and pursue a career in the film industry. He matriculated in 2011 and although he hasn’t spoken of his further education, it’s widely believed that Drew attended college and obtained his degree in 2014.

He has been credited with appearing in around 30 movies and TV series. Drew made his debut film appearance in 2014 with his portrayal of Patrick Clemens in the short science fiction drama “The Radical Notion of Gene Mutation”, and the following two years saw him star in four shorts, including the mystery comedy “Lost Soles”, the thriller “Bounds”, and the drama “Love Is the Longest Con”.
His first feature film appearance was in the 2018 critically acclaimed biographical crime drama “American Animals”, written and directed by Bart Layton, and which starred Spencer Reinhard, Warren Lipka and Eric Borsuk.
It follows four young adults who have been motivated by a movie to try and pull the craziest heist in US history – the film won 10 of the 32 awards for which it was nominated. A couple of Drew’s following roles were in the 2018 crime drama “The Hate U Give”, the thriller “Mine 9”, and the biographical crime drama “Just Mercy”, all of which became hits and won various awards.
In 2019, he was invited to star in two shorts: the drama “The Family Portrait” and another drama “Extended Stay”, and in 2020, Drew was cast to play Tommy Matson in the critically acclaimed thriller crime drama “The Devil All the Time”, written and directed by Antonio Campos and which starred Tom Holland and Bill Skarsgard. Drew gained recognition in 2019 when cast to play Hawkins in four episodes of the crime comedy drama “Scream: The TV Series”, created by four people, and which starred Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus and John Karna. It follows several teenagers who are hunted by a serial killer; it aired from 2015 to 2019, and won three of the 13 awards for which it was nominated.
In 2020, Drew was cast to play Rafe, one of the supporting characters in the hit crime action drama “Outer Banks”, created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke, and which stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline and Madison Bailey.
