Job Summary

•Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accreditation association recognized by the Council for Higher Education as defined within the Head Start Act, section 648A(a)(2)(i)-(ii) is required. oPreferred Master's degree related to ECE •Experience: A minimum of 5 years of ECE teaching and a minimum of 3 years of administrative experience, that includes supervision of ECE staff at multiple sites in ECE programs. Knowledge & Skills:•Strong skills in critical thinking to resolve problems, quickly address issues and reflect on root causes to prevent future repeated concerns•Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing needs of the position to meet program goals and address emerging concerns/issues in the organization.•Ability to remain calm in stressful situations; identify and analyze complex problems and recommend viable solutions. •Develop educational programs and meet the needs of children from diverse backgrounds and build a high level of teamwork at all levels with education. •Exercises considerable professional judgment and autonomy in decision-making with respect to the allocation of resources to pursue educational services objectives, within the education component. Valid Licenses/Permits/Certifications Required•California Child Development Program Director permit. •CLASS Reliable Observer CLASS Trainer preferred•CPR/First Aid SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSPrior to hire, the following must be assured:Other Special Requirement: Must have the use of an automobile with adequate insurance coverage and a valid California’s Driver’s License or have reliable transportation.
