My Frozen Treat Recipes♥

Are you excited for summer? Have you been thinking of some new frozen treats to eat? I know many people want treats that are healthy and delicious and also great for kids! I am extremely excited for summer, but I’m from Texas and last summer we had the high temperature of 115! I defiantly wanted something to cool me off; I can’t stand the heat. I had always heard of frozen fruit popsicles, chocolate covered bananas and some awesome smoothies. I never knew how to make these so I took a good guess and they all turned out perfect. I really hope you enjoy the frozen treat recipes I have in store for you. They all have fruits and are actually quite good for you, try them out and let me know if you like them. My nieces and nephews enjoyed them, their favorite was the popsicles, and they constantly ask when I am going to make them again. I know they loved them, and will be getting some more this summer, and hopefully they will help me make them. Use these recipes and do them with family members and make a day of it. Host a party and hand these out, your party treats will be a great success. It will be the hit of the season, try them out and give me your feedback. So here are my top three favorite recipes and treats for the summer time to help cool you and your family off. Thanks for reading and enjoy these frozen treats!

Recipe Number One: Frozen Fruity Pops

These popsicles can have any fruit you imagine in them; my favorites are strawberries and kiwi. They taste great together and also look very fancy, like you took a long time to make them.

Ingredients:

A variety of fruits

Popsicle molds (I got mine from target for about 3 dollars!)

Water or your favorite juice (I prefer water it’s always the best option)

Directions:

First you are going to want to get rid of the stems, and skin off of your fruits, and if there is seeds I suggest removing those as well. You don’t want anybody choking on the seeds! After that you are going to chop up the fruit into pretty small pieces so they can fit into your Popsicle molds. Now start to fill up your popsicle molds with the fruit of your choice, I like to mix up the fruit so it looks like you put more effort. Once that is done, fill up molds to the line with fruit or water of your choice; remember to put the sticks back into the molds when done. Be careful not to overflow. Then you will want to put your popsicles in the freezer until they are frozen, after that your popsicles are ready for eating!

Recipe Number Two: My Favorite Smoothie

You can make your own smoothie with your own flavors and fruits. They will all turn out delicious and very fruity; I love these for the summer time! One tip is to get a really fancy glass and cut a strawberry down the middle, and put it on the top of the cup! It looks really pretty and professional great for summer parties.

Ingredients:

½ Cup of low fat or fat free milk

12 Strawberries (or your preferred fruits if the fruit is larger you definitely don’t need 12)

½ Cup of sliced kiwis

5 ice cubes

Directions:

Chop up kiwis and strawberries; add them to blender along with milk and ice cubes. Blend using the pulse option and first and then finish with a 1 minute blend on high enjoy your smoothie!

Recipe Number Three: Chocolate Covered Bananas

This recipe is somewhat healthy even though they are covered in chocolate. They are great for those hot summer days and everyone will enjoy these! Keep reading for the recipeJ

Ingredients:

3 to 5 bananas

One bag of your favorite chocolate chips

1 ½ cups of chopped nuts (or any of your favorite toppings, some of mine are M&Ms and cookie crumbs)

One bar of paraffin (preferred)

Popsicle sticks

Wax paper

Directions:

Peel your bananas completely and cut them into halves. Add Popsicle to the bottom of your bananas. Put bananas on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Freeze until sturdy enough to melt into chocolate. Then melt your bag of chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir until completely melted. Then add your paraffin to the chocolate and melt as well. (This helps the chocolate stick to the bananas) NOTE: The paraffin will take some time to melt but stir constantly. After both are melted you want to dip each banana into the melted chocolate so all of it is covered. Once done, then sprinkle the nuts over bananas, as much as desired. Then freeze them until hard, and they are a perfect summer treat!
