Hi I'm Sara and I love the art of food & travel. I have a blog called One Tribe Gourmet, where I share my passion for global cuisine and my travel adventures around the world. I have always felt that food is the most common denominator that crosses all boundaries and brings people together. The ritual of “Breaking Bread” in every culture is a special bonding experience. Personally I love to experience different cultures through there cuisines! My goal here is to encourage an individual who is interested in learning different global cuisine yet is a bit intimidated by it. I am here to help you, all you have to do is open your heart!!!

I also do like jblock, and soak my almonds overnight. Rinse and drain. 1 cup of almonds to 4 cups of clean water, dash cinnamon, few drops of pure maple syrup (honey, stevia, etc), whirl in my nutri bullet, strain through cheesecloth, or nut milk bag, and "voila!" Now I'm going to add the orange blossom water and see where that takes me. Yum.

Where can I purchase that bottle that the almond milk is in?

Lois W. October 22, 2013

Can one use stevia instead of sugar?

Lost_in_NYC October 21, 2013

Where can one find orange blossom water?

witloof October 22, 2013

You're in NYC? Whole Foods, Dean and DeLuca, and Kalustyan's are all places where I've purchased it. Sometimes liquor stores sell it as well.

This just sounds lovely. I'm wondering though, how long does it keep in the fridge ? Would be great if I can make some beforehand and drink it over a few days!

What a great way to combine beautiful citrus flavours with nutty ones. And spice. On my to do list........ I might toast the almonds, with some cardamom!!!!!!!!!

Not to get all "raw" on everybody, BUT, you can make almond milk without the heat, and keep all the nutrition...I make it every week. Soak 1 cup almonds in water overnight, drain and rinse, blend very well on high in blender with 4 cups fresh water before straining. Then add flavorings. Agave mixes better than sugar for sweetness.

Thank you jblock for the "raw" recipe for the almond milk! I will have to try it! Agave for sweetener is a great idea!
