Recently I gifted a friend a mint plant and she turned me on this crazy simple recipe that taste amazing.
With just 3 ingredients and a handful of mint you can make Fresh Mint Candy.

Is Mint Candy Healthy?
Candy in general is not healthy on any level. High amounts of sugar, artificial ingredients, and dyes, make render candy the opposite of healthy.
However, our fresh mint candy recipe uses fresh mint, no artificial ingredients, and you can make it without sugar!
What Are The Benefits of Mint Candy?
Mint, and peppermint, has been found to offer soothing effects for gastrointestinal issues and upset stomach. As well as lessing cramps and aiding in reducing nausea.
In addition to easing stomach issues, mint also helps to reduce bad breath.
Which makes it an idea after dinner treat!

I am a huge mint fan, hubby on the other token says, and I quote, “if mint ice cream was the only flavor left on the planet, I would never eat ice cream again!”
Those are some pretty harsh words! I, on the other hand, reply ‘more for me!’

Is Peppermint Candy Made from Mint Leaves?
While some commercially made mint candies will contain derivatives from mint, such as peppermint oil, wintergreen, or spearmint, most have artificial flavoring.
However, our mint candy recipe uses fresh mint and only has two other ingredients.
The Best Mint To Use for Fresh Mint Candy
There are over 2000 species of mint, but for this recipe you want to use one of the following:
- Peppermint
- Spearmint
- Kentucky Colonel Mint
- Pineapple Mint
- Apple Mint
- Chocolate Mint
This recipe makes a great treat for kids, for parties, as a garnish or just about any time you want a sweet refreshing snack.
Fresh Mint Candy
I know you’ll love this crazy simple recipe and want to make it over and over again. Make sure to print or save it to add it to your recipe box.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup of Fresh Mint Leaves- washed and patted dry
- 1/4 Cup of Fine Sugar- you can use a sugar substitute such as Stevia. Use sugar substitutes sparingly as they tend to be sweeter tasting than cane sugar.
Tip: I only had granulated sugar so I put the sugar in my blender until it became a fine powder - 1 Egg White
*You can substitute 2 Tbsp. of Corn Syrup if you do not want to use eggs - 2 teaspoons of water
Directions
- Mix egg white ( or corn syrup) and water together until fully blended.
- Brush egg mixture on mint leaves using a basting brush.
- Sprinkle sugar over fresh mint leaves to cover completely.
- Place Sugar Coated Mint Leaves on cookie sheet or on tray in food dehydrator.
- Place in oven on lowest setting until crisp.
- I used my Food Dehydrator on 115° for 2 hours
- Remove your Fresh Mint Candy, let cool and store in airtight container.
How Long Does Mint Candy Last?
Your Fresh Mint Candy will last a long time if humidity does not get to it.

We eat ours up before it ever has the chance to get soggy.
Mint Candy Tip:
I like using smaller fresh mint leaves instead of the bigger ones.
The bigger leaves are sometimes hard to swallow if you chew them for a while.
The small mint leaves just seem to melt in your mouth, leaving a fresh feeling.
